I forgot to mention: Buy Nothing Day next Friday (right before our show), hosted by Zero Waste Vancouver. There will be at least one concertina in attendance in the live music circle!

"Zero Waste Vancouver hosts a CD swap with live traditional music and a screening of the 52 minute PBS documentary Affluenza. Bring CD's you would like to swap and take home some new tunes! Local musicians will play Celtic music during the CD Swap, which will start at 7pm. The short film will start at 8:30 (by donation to cover room rental).
Come celebrate Buy Nothing Day ~ the fast before the consumption season starts.

Location: Friday, November 23, 7 pm, at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 154 East 10th (@Main)"

Please, please consider a donation to keep our little radio station alive. Co-op Radio is completely sponsored by listeners, no huge government or corporate funds. Each show asks its supporters to kick in to keep the whole affair on the air. We need to earn $700 a year for our share of CFRO's budget. Get an online membership at, and tell them Accordion Noir sent you. Please email us if you donate too, so we make sure squeezeboxes get credit!

If you make a donation, you can win a prize!

Grand Prize: for the first "Omnindirectional" donation to CFRO of $102.7 or a monthly sustainer donation of $10 or more.
Jason Webley's totally out of print, "How Big is Tacoma/Cereal at Night" 7" (with CD too) single from 2005. Very cool, limited edition (#146 of 1,111). Collectible blue/pink vinyl (what's that?), with a scratch-n-sniff card (that does not smell like Tacoma), awesome.

Accordion Noir CD giveaways!
For any donation in the name of Accordion Noir. First-come while they last, only one copy available of each!
Something About Reptiles: From Istanbul to Orangeville, Great balkan craziness.
Marie-Josée Houle: Our Lady of Broken Souls, Toronto Chanteuse.

Jeffrey Bützer: She Traded Her Leg, Amélie-ish electronica? It's nice!
Rachelle Garniez and the Fortunate Few: Luckyday, Cabaret Jazz Hoodoo.
and Finally:
Chango Spasiuk: The Charm of Chamamé, if you got to see the cool Chamamé (Argentine gaucho music, with fast accordion) movie at your local film fest. A great record.
And Geoff Berner's priceless booklet of wisdom: How to be an Accordion Player. You should already have this or you won't know how to assess the state of the lamb fetus inside your accordion.

(Already given as a prize! Lea Nicholson: The Concertina Record, wild 70's multitracking, Bach on concertina, very fun! )
